Hello! We have recently been doing some marina hopping in the St. Petersburg Florida area and found one Marina which we had difficulties hooking to the shore power. We could hook up ok (30 amp) but kept popping the breaker. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Cynthia C, I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties. The NEC has recently changed the codes for ground fault leakage and some marinas have already updated the towers to meet the new code. The tighter regulation is intended to protect the swimmer from electrical shock while swimming in and around boats at a marina. Unfortunatly I can tell you that your boat probably has some wiring issues since it is popping the breaker. I have experienced this on a number of occasions and can help you out if you need further assistance.

Happy boating!

I want to thank Recreational Boating Support for supplying me with a lasting solution to a broken custom made part for the boom furler on my sailboat. The old boom furler broke, I was able to get in touch with Kraig VIA Recreational Boating Support to have a new part made. Kraig was able to look at the broken part, come up with a design and had the new part manufactured, delivered, and installed in a little over a weeks time. I was back out sailing in no time with the newly designed part, and thanks to Kraig it works as smooth as ever.

Thanks again for your support and expertise, Kirk
