San Diego native embarked on a journey that has spanned the globe and beyond. Now living the dream right here in America's Finest City.

USCG Licensed Captain (OUPV), and proud owner of a beautiful 1979 Catalina 27 Sailboat. I'm also a Veteran U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer, which involved operating Navy warships at sea and managing various shipboard systems across a broad spectrum of military vessels. I also founded Sailing Project Endeavor, which is a 501c3 tax exempt organization focused on teaching San Diego's at-risk youth population responsible behavior through sailing, environmental education and marine-life preservation. (West Marine BlueFutures partner organization 2022)

Summary of Qualifications and Experience: USCG Captain OUPV (March 30, 2021). Current Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification through May 2023. Qualified in advanced damage control and large ship engineering propulsion plant operation. Formally trained and qualified as an Officer of the Deck, which duties include bridge resource management, docking/undocking, precision anchoring and high-speed vessel operations. Trained in RADAR (ARPA) operation, navigation and E-CDIS and electronic-based voyage management systems. Experienced mariner interested in learning more about the San Diego boating industry, and blue water economy.

I’m also certified in basic/intermediate level cruising with U.S. Sailing, and have been cruising California's coastal waters since 2014. I absolutely love being on the water! At this stage, however, I’m looking to “up” my small craft experience by working hands on in the industry. I believe the best method of training is “hands-on”, and my ultimate goal is to form my own chartering company with more experience under my belt.
